When we talk about masterfully crafted footwear, we’re usually talking about the Goodyear Welt Construction or Blake Welt Construction. Each refers to a different technique when it comes to attaching the sole to the upper of a shoe. The Goodyear Welt is the gold standard of shoemaking, and can only be performed by skilled craftsmen. Our craftsmen can apply either one when crafting dress shoes, but usually opt for cementing when it comes to casual shoes.

**GOODYEAR WELTING**
The gold standard for quality craftsmanship. The Goodyear Welt Construction is a timeless traditional English shoe construction that completely transforms the longevity, quality and functionality of a shoe. This is footwear-crafting mastery and is the ultimate separation between average, everyday footwear and true, quality, skilled craftsmanship. The Goodyear Welt is **human ingenuity at its finest.**

**BLAKE STITCH**
A specialty of our factory in Spain and a noticeable difference when it comes to crafting formal shoes. The Blake Stitch is the definition of discretion and elegance. Using one single stitch in a very specific method, footwear crafted using the Blake Stitch are notoriously sleek, lightweight and flexible.

**CEMENTING**
Cement construction is the most common way of making shoes today, and that’s for good reason. Cement constructed shoes are fast, effective and efficient. Our Cement Construction follows a traditional approach, usually applied to sport shoes for a practical and comfortable end result.

THE ART OF HANDMADE PATINA

The Patina craft is truly an artform, and requires a highly-skilled artist to get it right and we’re proud to work with the finest craftsmen in Europe. The artist applies the dye unique to each leather hide and shoe, which makes each one completely unique. The welt or construction is where the shoe gets its sole. The Patina is where the shoe gets its soul.
